In an effort to better keep up with volume for next year's tax season, I'm looking to add some help. I've connected with someone that has a season of working for a big box tax service in a part time role. I'm considering offering a contract position in which this person would work from home. The way I envision it, my office would do the intake meeting/scan the documents, then send them securely to this person. They would do all the data entry from the forms/organizer, then send the file back to me to do a review/finalize it.
This person would be doing all 1040 work, I would do all the 1120/1065 returns. With that being said, I would like to pay the person on a per return basis. Any thoughts on what a "fair" rate would be for this type of work?
