I've always used e-filecabinet that is on m desktop.

Now i am testing efilecabinet doc manager on efile cabinet's server.

Not like as much.

Want to go into the cloud.

Anyone loved their doc management program (in the cloud)?

curious as to what other programs to consider.

The only doc management system that's in the cloud which I like is AdvanceFlow. I've tried at least 4 different products and if cloud is the only way you want to go, I highly recommend AdvanceFlow. Also has an easy to set up TB with it.

thanks for info...can i ask why you like so much...i only do taxes...no audit work.

i'm not locked into the cloud necessarily..though seems way for me to go since out of office 1 day wk and have 1 staff member

I don't do audits either. Importing a tax client TB and making my AJEs in the program makes it easy for me to export AJEs and send to the client.

AdvanceFlow itself is just insanely fast IME considering its cloud based. A lot of services, just tested one from CCH, limit the bandwidth of their products so it's slow even if your firm has speedy internet. In other words the bottleneck accessing data can be unbearable to people like me used to fast document access.

I save outlook emails and have a lot of word and excel files on all my clients and I find the product just works. Again AdvanceFlow is the best I've used. I've tried others that were IMO abysmal but that doesn't mean there isnt some solution out there that could be better and cheaper. Just sharing my experience.

We use Box.com. Not sure what you're looking for but we've been using it. It takes a long time to sync documents (where dropbox, for comparison, is almost instantaneous). We sync most documents to our desktop but everything is accessible in the cloud.

is box.com encrypted?

We use SmartVault. It's reasonably priced, secure, and user friendly. It is cloud based, so it does run slow every once in a while.

ty...i had heard of problems with smart vault when it first came out...overall you find it good?

are you able to dowsnload your docs from the cloud onto desktop so not locked into them?
