looking for new iphone....xr vs iphone 8

anyone have insight on?

I researched new phones a couple of months ago. Thought I would go for the 8. Ended up doing the Xr at the weekend, although the decision was helped by the trade-in values for our 6+'s. The two biggest issues for me were breakability of the newer 'phones and the loss of the home button. Neither my wife nor I have smashed our 'phones yet (touch wood) and we are both getting used to not having a home button. I do find myself using two hands to do things I used to do with one (like switching off my alarm clock) but it is not terrible.

Got the XS Max - love it - charcoal color, logo barely visible.
