Lots of baby boomers looking for transition strategies in my area.
I know of 4 local firms that had transitions in the last 3 years, and 2 practices currently for sale in my area.
One is listed through APS.net, the other is trying to find a buyer locally on his own. This year he sent a spec sheet to local CPA firms.
I met with him last summer, and he indicated that H&R Block would come over at a moments notice with the contract to acquire his clients, but he wasn't sure that was the best move for his clients. I just assumed that meant they weren't going to pay what he wanted. He was seeking dollar for dollar, maybe a bit more.
H&R has recently been mailing and calling my employer.
