I figured I would start a new thread for the extended deadline. There are now at least 4 threads in all three forums!

Please list any states that have announced extended deadlines here. Figured it would be helpful for all.

Just heard and confirmed on the FTB website - California has changed the deadline to 5/17.

Massachusetts will probably extend. Vermont has extended. New York, not yet, but stand by. New Hampshire does not matter much because so few people have to file I&D tac or Business profits tax.

NC has extended filing and payment deadline. Pretty quick for NC. The press release indicates that NCDOR, legislative leadership and the Governor are going to work together change the law so that interest is not charged. Let's hope they do so quickly.

Q1 Estimates are still due April 15th.

SC extended individual deadline to match IRS, though the notice indicated they are waiting on further information from IRS. Corporations remain April 15 as of now.

innesota Income Tax Filing and Payment Grace Period to May 17

ST. PAUL, Minn.– In following with the IRS, the Minnesota Department of Revenue has announced a grace period for taxpayers filing their annual Minnesota Individual Income Tax return for tax year 2020. Those taxpayers now have until May 17, 2021, to file and make their payments without any penalty or interest.
“This grace period for the individual tax filing and payment deadline provides timely relief to Minnesota families,” said Governor Tim Walz. “As we work to get through the COVID-19 pandemic together, my Administration will do everything we can to ease the burden on Minnesotans.”
Minnesota is allowing additional time for making 2020 state individual income tax filings and payments to May 17, 2021, without any penalty and interest being applied.
This grace period does not include individual estimated tax payments.
“As Minnesota continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will again provide a grace period for filing and paying 2020 individual income taxes,” said Revenue Commissioner Robert Doty. “You do not have to wait until May 17, 2021, to file your return. The sooner a return is filed, the sooner the department can review and process the return.”

Per GA DOR website, they have extended filing and payment deadline from 4/15 to 5/17 for individual tax returns (GA Form 500).

Like federal, this does not apply to the Q1 estimate.

Check with your Tax software website or support because many have posted which states have extended the deadline to match IRS deadline. I am glad that the three states that I file frequently are in sync! So I have created a cover letter that goes on top of the copy of the tax return to inform the taxpayer what the new deadline to pay is.

My software still does not allow an ACH Debit date beyond 4/15.
