Planning now for what i can do before year end to take some of the workload off in tax season.

Three simple things:

1. making sure i have updated licenses for everyone before year end

2. for those getting child tax credit..finding out how much they have received and when did they start getting it

3. Who got the $1,400 and who didn't

any other ideas, feel free to chime in.

I just added EIP3 but completely overlooked the child tax credits people have been receiving. It's almost impossible to plan all of this...

agree..but the more i can get out of the way before tax season the better.

even if i have to ask 70 less clients this questions; and take care of licenses

that'll be a big help with the small time frame of tax season.

wish they'd move tax deadline out to May 1, 20xx permanently

I get around the license issue by requiring it in the annual questionnaire. Same with bank account info since I don't always know if a client will have a refund due or not, and some choose to pay via direct draft. I'm going to add something that a client has to trigger upon uploading all documents, basically informing me that they believe they have provided everything and I can schedule their returns for prep.
