In prior years we have been able to efile delinquent returns thru Pro Series.

We merely changed the PIN entry date on the information page to the same year as the current calendar year..........so if the return is for 2021, and is being efiled in 2023.........we merely changed the PIN entry date to 2023 instead of 2022.

This year that is not working--------- the returns are being rejected by Pro Series.

If we leave the date as 2022........... IRS is (apparently) rejecting the returns.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks.

Use 2023 date and when you file, click off the box that checks for errors. They have a alert out with the instructions. Yellow banner at top.

Had the same error today. Known issue with proseries and they're working on a fix.
Here's the workaround. Put the current year date. Go to EF center and go to efile. Convert return and unchecked the box to file despite the error. Worked for me and proseries gave me that instruction.
