Calling it tax season is confusing, but what do you call it, extensions season?

Yep, it's "extension season" around here... though I don't have a name for that too-brief season from October 16 to January. Planning season?

I find that many people call it extensions season, but the term isn't as widespread as tax season for the earlier part of the year. I've run into other people who lump both into tax season. Depending where one stands in tax, the post-10/15 period is planning season, sales season, or even busy season for certain parts of the tax accounting method change industry and for almost all of the M&A world.

Lol, I haven't gotten a single one! A few penalties notices, but no CP2000's, which I believe is the first time ever. But I guess that's the kind of extension season you have...

in the twilight zone.
