I know there was a setting to change this but haven't tried in years. Randomly, for the last couple months when I make a selection for any board index on the list (tax, General accounting, etc.) the posting list defaults to oldest first, in my case starting at 1969. Each time I access it I need to change the "ascending/descending" selection to Descending which then reverses the ordering. Sometimes I have to make the change more than once to see the most current post. How can I change the ordering setting to default descending?

It's in the "user control panel" -- when you are logged in, this is the direct link to the location in that dashboard where you can select the ordering:

You'll notice that when you change the sort sequence from oldest on top to most recent on top, or vice versa, the post # changes too. The post # doesn't refer to a specific post; it only refers it's position in the sequence you are using. This becomes confusing when someone makes a comment such as "I agree with post # 8" and you find that makes no sense. Post #8 in his sequence is a different post #8 in your sequence.

I have noticed that.
