Control Panel > Manage subscriptions. (Icon)

When I go to Manage subscriptions, I see a list of all discussions that I subscribe to. There is a little circular icon I the upper left corner with a red star. Some of these icons have a scrolling image on them and some don't. What does the scrolling image mean?

Sorry I missed this question! I believe the icons are supposed to indicate "read" or "unread".
