I don't like the fact that all posts must be approved. I posted a message to a discussion, or thought that I had, then it didn't show up, then I posted it again and saw the message that all posts must be approved. In my opinion, this is an unnecessary delay and will drive many tax professionals off of this forum.

David, for any new member who joins only their very first post is held in moderation. Once it is approved, their account is switched to "full access" and then any subsequent posts are allowed.

I agree with you that it is confusing as configured. When you made that first post, a message screen was displayed but it is on a (short) timer and it is easy to miss. The message is also not clear enough. I am going to work on fixing that tonight.

Thanks, Chris, for that clarification.

I was looking for a thread where I could go to be deflowered with regard to this board; this seemed as good as any. When I have a tax question or comment, it could be a situation where every minute counts! ;-)

OK, I fixed this one. Here's the way it works now, when a brand-new member makes their first post:

1. They are shown a message that says: Your post has been submitted, and is being held for review by one of our moderators. Once your first post here is approved, your account will be unrestricted.

2. The timer on this message screen is now set to 20 seconds (it was 10 seconds which seemed a little too short)

3. Once a moderator or Gatekeeper approves the post, they get an email saying that their post was approved and their account is now unrestricted.

Nothing in the logs. What userid ID did you use two weeks ago?

Although it is possible that I somehow did not submit it correctly.

I know, right? Too bad there is no quick way to opt out of being a Noobie... Guess that's why I'm studying for the CPA ;) :( :?

I hope posting here satisfies my TaxProTalk background check and compliance audit ! :D

I lurked and occasionally posted on TaxAlmanac. As a TaxAide volunteer, most of my problems were answered in the IRS pubs.

I am delighted this board opened.
