David I'm thinking about integrating TinyMCE as the editor here, which would remove the need for bbcode.

It's on my radar; I need to prioritize the workload.

It's been about five or more years since I last tried deploying TinyMCE. I hope it's gotten much better and more reliable since then (but I'll be real annoyed if it's gone the route of disabling the browser's built-in spell check).

yeah, if/when I get to this it will definitely go on the development site not here...it'll need some thorough testing and I will ask for help. I'm on the fence on this one to be honest; TinyMCE may be overkill and end up being a thorn in my side when needing to do future upgrades to the base product (phpbb), here.
