Often times I do an advanced search and find that I did not choose the correct settings or did not put in the correct search phrase. When I hit the Back button or the 'Return to advanced search' link I am returned to a completely reset Advanced Search screen. My search phrase is gone and my settings are reset to the default settings*.

I swear that this was not always the case. I don't remember always having to recreate my search words/phrase. Did something change?

Anyhow, is this an easy fix?

* Also ... speaking of default settings - I would like my default settings to always search the Taxation forum and to Display my results as Topics. I don't imagine there is a way to set this up on a per user basis, is there?

wow you have a good memory, and no you are not imagining this.

Recently, I converted the entire site to a secure protocol (https over SSL). This is to prevent the browser from complaining when you log in, that the page is insecure. Everything is secure now.

One of the side effects of this is that page caching for form inputs is turned off. This is so if you were on a 'secure' page and you had confidential data on it, if someone came up to your browser and hit the back button, that data would not show up for them.

I'm going to have to look into whether or not I can force page caching back on in this case, and still run over https.

And you are correct on the default search settings...that feature does not exist...sorry...
