I have a client that received a 1099-R that reads "Name Prsnl Asset Tr (Bene). The tax ID is not his social security number and the distribution code is 4. Taxes were withheld.

Do I prepare a 1041 on this?

Thanks!

Additional info: received K1, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, and 1099-B all using the PAT tax id. I'm sure this requires the 1041.

The K1 is using a fiscal year of August 9, 2017 - July 31, 2017. The funds for the 1099R were paid on 5/1/17. Could I use a fiscal year starting with 5/1/17?

Thanks
