I received E-mails today from Spidell Publishing and The Tax Book that TIGTA issued a report on September 30 stating that the 2019 tax season will likely be delayed due to IRS under-staffing issues. They further noted that there are 140 different systems affected by the tax law changes and 450 forms that have to be updated . IRS simply does not have the manpower or people in place to get this accomplished . They discussed the hundreds of thousand hours needed to accomplish their overall task.
