I have a client that has a Grantor Trust from funds inherited by his Aunt. We tried to get his payers of income to use his social security number to report income on 1099s (Optional Method 1). They said the way the Aunt's lawyer set it up, they can't do it.

So, I am looking at Optional Method 2. My interpretation of this method is that the Grantor Trust issues 1099s to client, so he can report all income directly on this 1040. I use efilemyforms.com, so this should be easy.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks

Who is the grantor to this Grantor Trust? The Aunt or your client?
