Partially disposed 39 year property

I have client and need a little guidance.

The partnership bought a building in 2016 for 10 million, never placed in service and immediatly started doing renovations. In 2018 my firm did a cost seg on it and we have partially disposed assets about 1.6m with 1.3 being the 39 year property. So, can we claim abandonment on the 39 year property?

I’ll tell you this there is a thread on this board somewhere that addresses this question. I’ll try and find it.
