Taxpayer passed away in 2016. His former home is now co-owned 50/50 by his estate and his surviving spouse. In 2018, a solar panel was installed at the former home. His estate paid 50% of the cost and his surviving spouse paid the other 50% of the cost.

Can his estate claim energy tax credit on it?

Don't think so. Limited to individuals. Thought about credit in respect of decedent but that only applies to foreign tax credit.

Co-owned by estate and surviving spouse? Or by trust and surviving spouse?
