Hi all, we have a client who is a 501C7 student organization. They collect membership dues which are then used for year end events. They collect about $70k each year. They did not do a 990 from 2012 to 2019, and they lost their tax exempt status from 2016 to 2018.

They want to reapply, but we're not sure how to treat this. Will we file a CCorp for them from 2016 to 2018? And can we do a 990 for all their past years?

They asked if they could just be a for profit going forward and not do the past returns, and we said they do, but can they just start anew?

Thank you in advance for the insights.
