I was filing two 1099s for a client and somehow, mistakenly, the same address got put on both 1099s.
Luckily, I was able to catch the mistake before it was transmitted to the IRS, but that brought me to the question of how would you fix 1099 with the wrong payee address on it? Would one need to correct something like that?
In the General Instructions for Certain Information Returns (https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099gi.pdf) on page 11, there's a chart with different errors and what to do, but it doesn't mention an error of a wrong address.
Any ideas?
