Can divorced parents both claim Head of Household status if they do not claim the same child? For example, 3 dependent children live 50/50 with both parents. The Husband has the children for one full week and Wife shall have the children for the next full week continuously. The Husband will claim child C and the wife will claim child A and B in year one. The next year, the Husband will claim child B and C and the wife will claim child A. They will alternate each year.

If they structure their custody so that the dependent they are claiming lived with the taxpayer for more than half of the year, could they both claim HOH?
