Please allow me to bump this post just once. I'm hoping I just posted on very busy day for everyone. I have a handful of clients that rely on me to make their (bi-weekly or monthly) payroll tax deposits and file their 941s, 940, W-2s, W3, and 1096. My clients find it burdensome, (and so do I) to submit signature authorization (to me) for all of these deposits and forms. Is there a form they can sign (other than an agent authorization) allowing me to make their deposits and file their payroll reports without having to get their signature every time for every deposit and form without becoming their agent?
The 2848 is very clear the representative cannot sign INCOME tax returns (other than those special situations). Does that mean the 2848 DOES authorize signatures on other tax forms such as 941, 940, W-3 and 1096? To clarify, I am a CPA and therefore an enrolled preparer.
