Taxpayer, who is a dependent, has filed the tax return without attaching Form 8615. But calculation shows filing Form 8615 would not have changed his tax liability at all. Every figure on the Form 1040 would remain the same. In this situation, does he have to file an amended tax return just to submit the Form 8615?
