if so, what does it do and why would you use it? (GST documention is worst I've ever seen)

Taxpayer-Specific Determinations to QBI
Default is to apply 100% to first sub-unit


(select this Option 1) Use K-1 income/loss before taxpayer-specific adjustments for the
system-calculated field, and use percents or amounts to
allocate amongst sub-units for column A

Enter percent to limit taxpayer-specific adjustments in column B.
These adjustments are calculated elsewhere in the return.
Like office in the home, or unreimbursed business expense (input here)
