Do I need form 8833 to claim Canadian CPP under US SS rules?

Pub 597 tells me nothing that I need to know.

Client is a US person living in Canada.

Has CPP income.

I believe I can treat it as social security income (reporting and 85% taxed based on his other income)

Do I need to file form 8833 to do that?

How complicated is that form?
