Taxpayer wants to transfer an annuity, which is in her individual name, into an irrevocable trust which is a grantor trust. The annuity is non-qualified. Would this be a taxable event to the individual ?
Since the transfer is to a trust that is irrevocable I would think that the transfer would trigger a taxable event to the grantor.
Any one in the group have any thoughts?
