Company normally pays key employees a large year end bonus. An employee passed suddenly before the bonus was paid out. I am thinking we can still pay the estate the bonus and take the tax deduction. The bonuses are based on the results of the year end which was 6/30 and employee just died a few days ago.
Any special rules related to this type of situation. I will research the reporting aspects. Most info on the web only deals with sick time, vacation time but I assume the same rules apply to bonus
