hi
My client is now using Avalara for sales tax, as there are several states to which sales tax is owed.

State of CA is owed about $900.00 from a single transaction a month ago, for goods shipped to CA from MI.

What is the best sales tax form to set up in Avalara?

Not sure how that software works but if the client has no presence in CA other than that one sale then they don't have to collect sales tax under CA's new nexus laws unless the sales tax was actually collected. If collected, then it's owed. Shouldn't have to collect sales tax though if sales volume and price are minimal.

Yes I agree, the client's sale volume is still very low, as they initiated the operation only this year.

But they didn't listen to me, & spent $5k on Avalara.

They have collected sales tax for many states now, so i need to set up an account in Avalara for each state, just so i can pay.
