Based on what has been posted here so far I don't think I'd want my PTIN on this client's tax return so I'd politely disengage. I know when dealing with long-term clients that is easier said than done, but all I see with this one is the client calling in the future when the IRS notice(s) start rolling in and he expects you to help him prove his case to the IRS.
