PPP and ERC Documentation

I'm working on a client who received various ERC credits during 2021, and PPP loans that they said was forgiven in 2021. What kind of documentation do you normally retain regarding these? The client's books are pretty bad. Is it common to request the loan forgiveness documentation for the PPP?

Yes
I require at least the email from their lender confirming forgiveness.
IMO, the bankers can go back and get it again if necessary. They have to earn their fee somehow.
