A 1099-B is issued to the parent's social for a 529 plan. Just ignore and not report?
Would this create a matching problem with the IRS?

1099-B should not have been issued.
Yes it will create a matching problem.

Maybe you don't mean a 529 plan but rather some type of custodial account set up for the kid's education?

the WB stmt indicates 529 plan, parent's name FBO kid's name.
