Client is a CA daycare employer. Longtime employee moving to AZ and will do paperwork as a side job 10-15hrs week. AZ person will be fulltime employee of some other business.
Client open to be either W-2 part time employer or 1099-NEC
1. If CA client continues to be W-2 employer does he have to register with AZ? Is he required to withhold and if so does that require registration?
AZ employee would have no CA filing requirement as W-2 work is physically in AZ.
2. If it were a 1099-NEC does CA employer client have any AZ requirements? ( if it were CA rules then CA EDD needs to be notified of 1099-NEC).
