Hello all!

I haven't had this issue in a while, so I'm a bit rusty. Client earned max SS wages at employer 1 (non-railroad), and approx. $62,000 in Tier 1 wages at railroad employer 2 during 2022. Tax software doesn't add the two together to calculate the excess, but it has a feature where I can force the tax credit for the excess (approx. $3,200).

Am I on the right track here (pun intended) in assuming the taxpayer can take a credit by adding the Tier 1 and SS wages from a railroad and non-railroad employer to figure the excess SS credit?

It's been about 10 years or so since I've ran into this issue, thanks in advance!!!
