Is anyone familiar with any guidance surrounding the potential maximum amount a solar equipment company could charge for leased equipment?
In short, I have a solar equipment company as a client and they are considering opening up a separate LLC which would hold ownership to the solar equipment installed on residential property, leasing it out to the homeowners. The new LLC would then get the benefit of the ITC as well as depreciation on the solar property and ultimately transfer title of the equipment to the homeowner after a specified period (such as ten years).
