custom reports in QBO balance only increases

Set up a custom report in QBO for water bills in QBO.

The balance column only increases, even a payment makes the balance increase,
I want see a running balance that increases with bills, and decreases with payments.

My custom report that i set up for the AMEX card does not have this problem.

Solved: when i use a bank account for the input "Bank/Credit account," the balance will decrease as it should. My problem was I used a liability account to pay, as in the credit card.

As you're finding out, those lovely custom reports in any version of Quickbooks are rather finicky about the parameters you set. It is why I try to start with an existing report and modify it to fit my needs, but even then it does not achieve desired effect.
