I have a few online retail/ecommerce clients.
How do you guys usually deal with multi state sales tax issue with large number of sales receipts/invoices.
For example, client sales through shopify. Do you usually manually import order details from shopify to quickbooks and generate sales tax that way or use third party app to deal with sales tax.
Thank you!

I'm not familiar with Shopify, but when I did handle it for multiple states, our eCommerce software integrated with Quicbooks through an inventory and warehouse management system, which allowed me to generate reports for sales tax liability by state (within Quickbooks, since each state/jurisdiction had its own item). Bit of a pain. If you can do can get it to feed into Quickbooks Desktop, for example, the sales tax liability reporting has improved dramatically. Now, I just seal with single state and am no longer familiar with how various eCommerce sites like Shopify integrate with software, or what reporting capabilities they have...

Thank you for your input!
I will look into quickbooks itself and see if it can solve such issue nowadays.
Thank you!
