I've started using the new invoicing format in QBO.

On the old format, I set it up so that "quantity" and "rate" are hidden on the client side, however I'm able to using them for calculating.

There doesn't seem to be an option to hide these columns on the new invoicing format? Anyone encountered this and figured it out? Note I don't want to disable those fields globally, I just want them to not show on the client side when they receive an invoice from me.

Consider using a group so clients cannot see the detail. I use them for almost everything, allows me to keep the detail on my side and the client is presented a far cleaner invoice.

Agreed. That’s exactly what I do. I list each item individually on the invoice along with the quantity and rate, so that it allocates to the correct account (or class) on my bookkeeping but I hide these fields to the client and show the total at the bottom in the third section of the invoice only.

But if you still want to show the “amount” in the second section for each item but not the “quantity” or “rate”, there should still be a checkbox to uncheck those two boxes. At least that’s how it shows for me right now.
